Postsecret and the Plurality of Desire
One of the projects that I’ve wanted to take on for a while now is using the famous site Postsecret to show what I mean by talking about sexuality and desire as things whose tie to gendered object is socially constructed. These posts span a few months of secrets, and as more get posted to Postsecret, I’ll try to keep posting them here. What I find so fascinating about these secrets is that they highlight the plurality of desire, being turned on by war, race, an article of clothing, physical size, a physical state of being (ie: having one’s bladder full), an act (in this case the “non-sexual” act of stuffing a turkey), and exhibitionism, among many others.
